ABOUT
A short film project edited for director Ryan Zemke who revisits lives lived through the imagination, and the people and places that define both our memories and sense of self
Memories are never just memories. They are an accumulation of influences – personal, creative, spiritual – that manipulate our perception of specific moments in time, and the stories that arise from them. They can be generated by a simple change of location, in which the feelings that form simply by being somewhere can stir the recesses of the mind.
Exploring the space between people, places, and time, director Ryan Zemke captures the power of relationships in shaping our private worlds with short film Secret Place. Through retrodden memories, we witness the impact of distance on feeling, and the associations we make between lives lived, and the connections that drive them; the magic that accompanies certain creative processes, and the void left behind when things that make us who we are are lost.
